Creative arts

Creative arts is mandatory for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

In creative arts, students discover a variety of art forms through a study of dance, drama, music and visual arts where they learn to appreciate, compose, listen, make and perform.

Each art form has its own unique knowledge and skills, elements or concepts as well as a capacity to inspire and enrich lives.

Our school participates in Dancesport Challenge annually.

Year 5 students have the opportunity to participate in a 15 week program of ballroom dance tuition, taught by a professional coach. The dances taught are Cha Cha, Tango, Salsa and Jive. This exciting program culminates in over 1400 students from public schools in NSW competing at the Dancesport Gala Night held in September at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre. In addition to learning skills in dance, the Dancesport Challenge program builds confidence levels and fosters the values of respect, cooperation, perseverance and trust.
